Basic Cyber Essentials
IASME offers a self-assessment route to both the government’s Cyber Essentials Scheme and also the IASME governance standard. You can download all questions in the self assessment for free. We advise that you study the questions and make sure you are prepared in advance of registering for a self assessment.
The UK Government’s Cyber Essentials Scheme focuses on the five most important technical security controls, while the IASME standard is risk-based and includes holistic aspects such as physical security, staff awareness, and data backup. Certification against both will indicate a good level of all-round information security. The IASME assessment process includes the Cyber Essentials element and a company can be accredited to both standards by going through just one self-assessment.
The IASME and Cyber Essentials self-assessments are available through a secure hosted platform powered by Pervade Software’s Compliance Tracker. The assessments can be accessed and answered quickly and easily using Pervade’s intuitive user interface.
The cost of self-assessment leading to certification against both IASME and Cyber Essentials is £300 per company, although you can opt to be assessed against only the Cyber Essentials Scheme for the same price. This price includes automatic cyber liability insurance for any UK organisation with less than £20m annual turnover, terms apply.
Before you embark on the live self-assessment, download the set of questions here so that you can ensure you understand the issues and can find out the answers in advance.
When you are ready to take the live assessment you will be asked to pay £300 via PayPal and then will be emailed, within one business day, with log-in details for an account to complete the on-line assessment. When you want to apply for the live assessment please click here.
